Ampersand Magazine is a product of Forterra, the state of Washington’s largest non-profit land conservation organization dedicated solely to the region. Forterra, meaning "for the earth," has conserved 180,000 acres of working farms, forestlands and natural areas to date. Ampersand, a bi-annual magazine, was created to celebrate the people living in the Pacific Northwest and all the wonders of natural beauty it has to offer.
So far there, are four issues of Ampersand, and my role as the designer was to help bring to life the latest issue. This issue focuses on the fascinating things that happen during the season of spring in the PNW. After the distribution of each issue, Forterra's Ampersand Magazine goes from page to stage at the Moore Theatre, and turns into Ampersand Live where local artists, performers, musicians, and writers come together to perform and tell stories about the PNW and what it means to them.
